Sewing 101: Tissue Box Covers
This 3-hour class is ideal for anyone who has purchased or inherited a sewing machine and wants to build their sewing confidence while making a cute tissue box cover.
We’ll start by going over basic machine maintenance, and give your machine a good tune-up, while touching on some machine sewing fundamentals. Everyone will choose a fabric from a selection of vintage homespun cottons, and learn how to cut out a pattern and construct a tissue box cover. All materials will be provided, just bring your sewing machine.

Invisible appliqué
Learn the art of needle-turn appliqué in this 2-hour workshop. This traditional way of sewing fabric shapes onto a foundation, is common in quilting but can also be used to embellish clothing and other soft goods.
This appliqué technique seamlessly hides raw edges with just a needle and thread. The bends and curves of different designs are applied by using the tip of your needle to turn the raw edge under ahead of your stitch. We’ll go over how to prepare your design and then appliqué it onto your project. All materials provided, with option to bring a piece to appliqué onto.

Cross stitch Embroidery
Learn how to cross stitch onto fabric in this 2-hour workshop. This timeless art can be used to personalize clothing, and a variety of linens. This meditative technique uses repeated x-shaped stitches, and is great for beginners.
We’ll start by learning both the traditional and Danish styles of cross stitching before mo. Students will learn how to read a cross stitch chart and transfer a design of their choice onto a linen sampler. All materials provided.
